This was definitely the best hostel we’d stayed in so far. It was a huge, old building overlooking a lovely courtyard with hammocks and a bar with fabulous views over Cusco city. It had been set up by a group of backpackers who clearly knew what makes a fanbloodytastic hostel and was now one of three Loki hostels in South America. It was really clean (there were people cleaning everywhere), with hot, powerful showers and large beds with proper duvets –it’s things like this which you really learn to appreciate as a traveler. There were also huge storage lockers under our beds, a late check out of 1pm, free tea and coffee, good cheap food (the homemade soup and chicken sandwich was delicious!) and it was an excellent location close to the centre.

The Loki hostel is a old colonial mansion that was beautifully restored and overlooks the city of Cusco. It is the biggest hosel that I have been in. There must be 150+ people here and it is always full. People work here for free lodging. The bar and restaurant work on a tab system, there are beautiful courtyards with hammocks and there is always a party with live music and dancing. I could get used to this.

SoI finally got back to Loki and hung around the bar with Adam, eating dinner anddrinking coffee and stuff, which was quite nice…I haven’t really sold loki verywell yet, but it really is the coolest place in the world [bold statement iknow]. all the bedrooms are always full, meaning there are a thousand peopleeverywhere to meet and talk too, the food is amazing and relatively cheapconsidering the quality [especially the vegetarian omelete –which is pureamazing], they had hot water, the beds were big and comfy....

The place simply has a good vibe, and visibly putseffort into maintaining it. Movies are played daily in the common room at4 pm. Elaborate dinners are cooked nightly for anyone on the ball enough tosign up for them by five in the afternoon. And most importantly, a giantchalkboard advertises daily activities for all guests: Horseback riding onMondays. High-altitude paintball Tuesdays. Mountain-biking. Bungee-jumping.Quiz night (a solid win at this on my part won not only a free t-shirt, butprepped me for a job as Quizmaster in the near future). Poker nights. Saturdayparties. It’s enough to make almost unemployed backpackers with a taste for thebizarre stick around for at least a week.

Very comfortable beds here, lots of bathrooms which are always clean. The parties in the bar are great, and it is easy to meet people to go out with. It is also very handy to have a travel agent in the hostel. The breakfast until 1pm is wonderful, but the menu is also a great option. To top it off, there are very friendly staff, and the location is ideal. Thanks Loki!!

My favourite hostel so far! So clean and best beds ever. If you´re worried about not getting enough sleep check into a 5 person dorm, perfect!

Great pub, with good food and very friendly, great place to hang out. Very helpful travel/tour agency based here. Stayed in a few places in la paz, this was my favourite. Book well in advance!

The best beds in South America! The bar is a brilliant place to meet people. The staff were awesome. We meant to spend 5 days here and it ended up being just under 2 weeks!

I had lots of fun, a couple of rowdy nights and a couple of chill ones. Noise was never a factor, I don't know what other reviewers are whining about. I would stay at LOKI again.
Sian Casemore (England) 10th September

Great things about the Loki hostel is it was very comfortable. A little overpriced, but $7 a night isn't anything to complain about. Check this out... For the first time on my trip I saw free toilet paper. The bathroom actually had a toilet seat embedded into the toilet. And did i mention they have hot pressured showers, i was in heaven for the first time in my trip. There were about 180 gringos from all around the world. A bar and restaurant, including on service laundry. A pool table, but don't even get me started on that. All packed inside this giant beautifully decorated mansion.
Benjamin Leahy (Ireland) 15th July 2009
More like a resort rather than a hostel, a very nice place, will be great when they finish all the building. Good location walking straight onto the beach
Thomas Stevens (Northern Ireland) 5th May 2009
Excellent hostel - all new and very clean. Staff were amazing! Tad expensive for the location but that´s what you pay for party hostels!! Music ends at 1am so you can sleep and it´s near plenty of bars to continue the party. Pool is excellent!!!! Barbara Pinget Colombres

July 4th 2009 http://tomsworldadventure.blogspot.com/2009/07/weekend-in-mancora.html
We found an incredible hostel with beautiful rooms, restaurants, and Australian tourists!
May 15th 2009 http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Colombia/Bogota/blog-399196.html
The Loki in Mancora reminded me of a Spanish hotel, though with dorms rather then private rooms, it had a pool with lots of deckchairs and an outside bar. They even brought the TV outside so everyone could watch the Champions League Semi Finals. From the hostel you could step onto the beach and after a 5 minute walk you pretty much had the beach to yourself.

Thenext morning we moved into the Loki del Mar. This hostel can be described asnothing less than a backpacker’s paradise. The main building looks like itbelongs along a quiet beach in the

TheLoki Hostel is also great, with its blue swimming pool, lively bar and somefamiliar faces I've seen else where in Bolivia and Peru. Four days were enoughfor a good rest, some yoga, and lots of sun.I also felt like I was part of abig family of travelers, hanging out at the beach with people I had met before, going out for lunch together with new friends for a day or two. The party at Loki never seems to end either, whichdoes not leave any room for feeling too lonely. I wish they had Loki's everywhere in the planet
