those alpaca sweaters in your bag and step into the sun.
Sun
With sunshine every day, you can choose to relax on the beach or at our pool. Park up on one of our pool loungers or on the soft white sand. Watch the surfers from your sunbathing spot! We are lucky enough to have breathtaking sunsets every night, which are not to be missed.
Surfing and Body Boarding
Mancora is a world famous surfing spot and a very popular destination for surfers. The break in front of Loki provides consistent left hand breaks and is a great place to learn. Nearby beaches such as Lobitos provide more challenging waves. You can rent boards at Loki’s surf shop. Feel the adrenaline!
Kite Surfing
If there are not good waves, there is guaranteed to be good wind, and Mancora is a perfect spot to take a crash course in Kite Surfing. Alternatively, if this is too energetic you can watch the kiters from your balcony in the hostel! They are pretty impressive!
Horse Riding
In Mancora you can ride horses along the beach, or in the nearby countryside.
Yoga
In a relaxing place like Mancora, yoga fits the vibe perfectly. Kick back and practice yoga overlooking the sea at sunset. One-off classes or weekly packages near the hostel.
Mud Baths
Just out of town you’ll find these natural mud baths where you can relax while the mud works its magic on your skin. Rinse off in the hot springs at midnight!
Fishing
There are plenty of fish to be caught in Mancora. Take the popular 2 hour fishing trip to snap a few fishies or go for the more professional option where you are likely to find bigger game fish.
Loki Olympics
Every Friday Loki del Mar runs the Loki Olympics! A fantasticly fun day with tug of war across the pool, darts, pool, table tennis and finally the bombing competition!
Cerros de Amotape National Park
This National Park in the North of Peru features over 60 species of mammals, 40 species of reptiles and various types of trees and insects. This beautiful park makes a great day trip and includes a trip by 4x4 out to the park, an hour of horse riding, lunch at the waterfalls, visits to natural springs and wildlife spotting for the afternoon.
Hang out in the Hostel
Our huge pool and poolside bar provide a fantastic area to chill out and relax. Daily events as well as parties and BBQ´s provide plenty of entertainment with a few beers in the sun.
Food
Mancora is the place to try great Peruvian seafood! Ceviche is the most popular and consists of marinated raw fish with Peruvian chili’s and red onion. Parihuela (Peruvian seafood gumbo) and Conchas Negras (dark shellfish) are also easily found in Mancora, along with great fish fillets. Tasty and fresh.
