WHITE WATER RAFTING

From December-March (rainy season) the 1 day rafting trip is great as the rapids go up to 4 and 4+. We highly recommend this trip! Write to us for details - we can make groups for any day with a minimum of 2 passengers.

Description

This one day trip is extremely popular, and is suitable for all experience levels as all of the rafting guides are highly experienced and have all passed the Peruvian national rafting course. Top of the line new equipment is used and safety precautions are always implemented. In the dry season (April – November) this section is class III, but once the rain starts falling the river keeps growing, all the way to class IV+ and class V!! Ask at the Loki Travel desk for information on current river conditions.

Itinerary

Pick up time is at the front doors of Loki at 8:00am when you will meet your guides and from there in a private van you will begin the drive to the put-in point, either in Chuquicahuana or Cusipata (depending on river levels) about 1hr45 from Cusco. You will be provided with all the proper rafting equipment including a wetsuit, splash jacket, neoprene boots, class V life jacket, helmet, paddle, and self bailing raft (6 passengers per raft). There will also be a safety boat (the “shredder” – an inflatable pontoon raft) for added security and an optional photo service. After a comprehensive safety talk you will head out on the water to practice a few commands with your guide before the real rapids begin. Approximately 2 hours later (depending on river level and group speed) you will reach the end point, where the guides will prepare a tasty lunch and you can change and relax before heading back to Cusco, returning usually between 3-5pm.

**Optional –photo service of your group on the water, CDs can be purchased for s/25
