OSGUR Ó CIARDHAIMPORTANT INFO REGARDING MACHU PICCHU AND ANY ASSOCIATED TRIPSTUESDAY, 26, JULY, 2011Hey everyone! The Peruvian Authorities have recently reduced accessibility to the Ancient Incan site of Machu Picchu. This was in response to concerns from international bodies including UNESCO about the amount of visitors that arrive daily to see this Wonder of the World. This has led to increased competition for the 2500 spaces a day currently available. This restriction encompasses all entry into Machu Picchu. For this reason Loki urges you to plan ahead to avoid disappointment. If you are planning to visit Machu Picchu by yourself, it is vital that you book your Entrance Ticket on http://www.machupicchu.gob.pe/ before booking your train ticket on www.perurail.com/ . This will avoid the situation of booking train tickets, but not being able to secure Entrance Tickets. Alternatively you can contact Loki Travel at [email protected] or (51-84)243705 to arrange a deposit via Western Union of 150US to secure your Machu Picchu entrance tickets as well as train tickets. Don't risk coming all the way to Peru and not seeing the wonderful Machu Picchu!

Loki Hacienda: the concept (Coming Early 2012) OSGUR Ó CIARDHAEXPLORING TARIJATUESDAY, 26, APRIL, 2011Hey All,
In a few weeks I hope to visit a part of Bolivia that I haven't explored yet even after 4 years of being here. It is part of the country that is supposed to be spectacular and also famed for it's wine production. Most, if not all of the national wine that you will see for sale in Bolivian shops is from this region.
The plan is to fly to Tarija from La Paz with Aerosur which is approximately 1100bs return and to stay in the Paralles Hotel, chill by the pool for a day and then visit the wineries on the Sunday. Apparently there is also a telescope and planetarium donated by the Russians.
l'll be sure to let you all know how I got on.
Saludos

2. Have a travel wallet or money belt which contains all your most important documents. When you cross borders you will be given an immigration form to fill out, of which you will keep one part of, to hand in on your departure from the country. Keep this safe. While in theory you should not have to pay to replace this slip, this depends on the immigration official you have, and it will almost certainly cause a delay.
3. Carry a pen or two in this travel wallet.
4. Carry your camera, iphone etc in a day bag that you keep with you at all time. Despite what anyone may tell you, it is not safe to leave your daybag on a bus while disembarking to be processed at immigration. The same goes for the rather bizarre boat crossing of Titicaca. It is a good idea to make sure that this daybag is on the window side of the bus either between you and your taveling companion or between you and the bus window, especially if you are asleep.
5. Good quality locks are essential for your day bag and either the same or some of those metal mesh covers for your backpack.
6. If you are going to take sleeping tablets on a bus, be aware that this makes you less likely to feel or see someone going through your bag. It is also to have a good idea of when the next checkpoint/border will be as it can be a bit of a nightmare trying to explain to the border guards why your tongue is lolling out of your mouth and why you cannot move your legs.
